	Davenport, IA. Visited this store on the way in to Bettendorf.  Quiet, clean and easy in and out.
	Shreveport, LA. Hot and dry.  So deserted, it's erie.  Not a soul in the gardening center.
	Ft. Wayne, IN. At a Meijer 24 Store: "Are you going to buy all those?" from a clerk, "Too bad, that would've been good for me!" A customer: "How many feet did you buy?" I replied, "None." He said, "I like those feet."
	Asheville, NC. A retired fellow talked about his own unconventional art practices.  His wife joined in to describe the fly he framed.  "He does things a bit differently."
	Knoxville, TN. "Look Ma, look at those bricks."  "Those aren't bricks son."  "Look, look they're getting so high." "Come on son."
	Lexington, KY. Bright early morning.  A few people busy getting supplies.
	Charleston, WV. First stop on southern tour '03.  Brand new store.  Not too many people.  Quiet in the gardening center, save an older lady asking for help with roses.  Fellow in parking lot sees my NJ license plate and asks where I'm from. Turns out he lived nearby and has retired to WV.  "I love it here, its not fast like NJ, but life is mighty good."
	Long Island City, NY. Hot summer day.  Readymade magazine is documenting this one.  Staff are friendly and accomodating.  Two pallets of blocks are delivered, bottles of cold water too.
