Moline, IL. Two clerks in garden center demand to know what I'm doing. They insist I must talk with the manager before building in the aisle. Manager says he won't stop me from setting up blocks outside to see if they're what I want for my project. "Lots of our customers do that!" he said, smiling. |

Birmingham, AL. Home Depot staff invited me down to build a piece. They arranged for Fox TV to film the build, and used the footage for an interview I did the next day. Had dinner with one staff person. Mistletoe was growing on her trees. Enjoyed her Southern hospitality. |
