Portsmouth, NH. Early morning visit. Quiet and peaceful. "Looks very precise what you're building. I'm doing a lot in my garden. That sculpture would look great in an outdoor garden." Kevin, working in the Garden Center: "What are you doing? I'm not sure this is safe here." I explain the project and that I'm very careful. We talk about traveling. "Everything is getting too homogenous - even plant offerings. When you travel, you see the same stores everywhere. I've got a degree in Horticulture, and am trying to get in more of a variety of plants so everyone's garden doesn't look the same. I really like what you're doing using these blocks in an unconventional way. You're thinking outside the block!" | |

RI. "Excuse me, you work here?" - customer. "I've worked here for three years and it's good to see something different in here. You're really in your art. I havn't taken the leap. I have a friend who is into her art. I'd like to show this stuff to her." (Suzanne Hurley, Cromwell Growers, suppliers to HD Garden Center. ) |

Waterford,
CT. "Holy...You think that's going to fall or is that the
way you're going to build your wall? HAHA!" "It's a sculpture." "Oh, you're trying it out here, eh?" Then two kids in a cart spot me. "WOW MOMMY, LOOK AT THAT, LOOK. WOW." |
